One of the most popular gods in the Hindu pantheon, Krishna represents joy, mischief, compassion, playfulness, and heroic deeds. Krishna is the 8th incarnation of Vishnu, the central figure of the epic Mahabharata, and author of the Bhagavad Gita.

From his mischievous boyhood exploits as a butter thief and prankster to his later role as a warrior and statesmen, every phase of Krishna's life is celebrated and meditated upon as a divine leela, or cosmic play.

This print depicts Krishna as a youthful cowherd in Vrindavan playing a flute for his beloved cows.
